Obese Children And Surgery

Posted in Blogging

0

Despite the well documented physical emotional toll that obesity takes on the self-esteem of children and teens - the majority of those surveyed would not want weight loss surgery.

Professor Paul Gateley, who leads the Carnegie Weight Management program, surveyed 100 clinically obese children (aged 8-17). Here is what he and his team found;

60% felt surgery was cheating. 71% felt weight loss surgery was dangerous. 61% believed there were easier ways to lose weight. 29% of the children saw eating too much junk food as the cause of their problem. 59% claimed that managing portion sizes was the main reason for their heavy weight. 60% feel that they get no support in overcoming their weight issues at school. 42% say they have been subjected to bullying. 58% think their body weight will prevent them from getting a boyfriend/girlfriend. A similar percentage worried that their weight would prevent them from pursuing their dream career. What we can learn from this

Youth obesity is easily one of the most pressing health concerns of the developed and developing world. Understanding the fears, concerns and mindsets of these kids is crucial to developing successful interventions to reverse this trend.

It all starts at home: parents need to take control of their children’s health by role-modeling healthy behaviours and providing a home environment whereby they set their children up for success. More often than not, obese children have obese children. This is an opportunity to get healthy as a family.

Government/school boards need to do their part: Providing healthy fare at schools and access to healthy foods for low income families is imperative. On the education front, physical education should be a staple in all schools. Further, classes on living a healthy lifestyle should be included in the curriculum of schools. The fact that only 29% of children saw eating too much junk food as being responsible for their weight problem is surprising.

Reversing this worrying trend will be neither easy nor quick. Massive paradigm shifts take time, persistence and the dedication of many individuals and organizations banding together towards a common purpose.

Looking Into Strategic Management

Posted in Blogging

0

Why do some corporate strategies succeed? And why do some of them fail? The answer is in effective strategic management. While most managers and executives are quite familiar with what strategic or institutional management is, many of them do not really have a good grasp of what this concept really means. And also, many of them fail to see that an understanding of strategic or institutional management should not only be kept within the managerial or executive level. This concept should be understood by all the people who are part of the company.

Strategic management is simply the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of cross-functional decisions and strategies that are aimed to help the company or organization achieve its long-term goals or objectives. It involves developing and specifying the mission, vision, objectives, policies, and plans of the company or organization. More often than not, these are expressed in terms of projects and programs designed to achieve the goals or objectives of the company or organization.

It also involves the proper allocation of resources so that the policies, plans, projects, and programs can be successfully implemented. In this manner, the mission, vision, and objectives that have been set can be fully realized. To help check whether the company or organization is on track, a balanced scorecard is often used. Through this balanced scorecard, the overall performance of the company or organization can be evaluated to check its progress towards the achievement of its goals or objectives.

While strategic management is meant to be a level of managerial activity, it also involves everyone in the company or organization. It involves the formulation of goals by thinking about doing more than just tactics. It helps give an overall direction to the company or organization. And more than just having a strategic alignment within the company, it also seeks to have a strategic alignment between the company or organization and its environment.

Simply put, strategic management is an ongoing process that seeks to evaluate and put control on the different businesses and industries that a company or organization might be involved in. It also helps evaluate competitors to help set specific goals and strategies so that existing and potential competition can be met or addressed. More importantly, it re-evaluates the each of the different corporate or organizational strategies regularly to help determine how it has been implemented, and whether the strategies have succeeded or they need to be replaced with new ones to better address different corporate or organizational and environmental changes.

How To Get Web Traffic

Posted in Blogging

Getting more and more traffic to your website is just like the Art of Fishing

From quite a young age I used to go lake fishing. It was a pass time that I really enjoyed but was not very successful at.

Many times I would sit from dawn until dusk at the water?s edge with my rod and line poised in readiness and yet I would catch nothing at all. This never daunted my enthusiasm or enjoyment of a day at the lakes.

Getting married and raising a family gradually pushed fishing into a distant memory.

Several years ago my wife and I decided to start lake fishing again. We purchased the basic equipment and set off.

As had been the case in my previous days, although we enjoyed the day, we were largely unsuccessful in terms of fish caught and yet other anglers around us seemed to have a lot more success.

I decided that something needed to change and ventured over to talk to one of the other anglers. I asked what bait he was using and he was very forthcoming about the best types of bait for certain types of fish.

On our next day of fishing we arrived armed with the very best selection of the recommended bait and ground bait to attract the fish to where we were fishing.

Once again, we were largely unsuccessful and this made me a little annoyed. What were we doing wrong? Other anglers seemed to be catching fish every few minutes.

Over the next few trips, I talked to a great many other anglers and I gradually came to understand that although we were all fishing in the same water, different anglers had different objectives.

Some were fishing for Carp and so used certain adaptations to their line and used specific bait. Others were fishing for Perch and so used much longer and more sensitive poles with again, specific bait, and so on.

It became apparent that although at a first glance we were all using a rod and line with a baited hook, to catch a fish, this was not in reality all that was going on.

And this is also true with how we all make money online.

We are all doing much the same things and we all have the same objective in that we all want to get more web traffic.

Many of us may even be using the same software and yet some will be successful with their home business while others fail.

Info Marketing Whats The Deal

Posted in Blogging

0

As I mentioned in my previous post Info is a multi-BILLION dollar industry and an incredible chance for you to make an additional income in or to even make this your profession. It is one of the easiest industries to “break into” AND it is based upon taking your knowledge and leveraging it. Let me explain: Info Marketing is the publishing, marketing and selling of Info products. both off-line (i.e. book stores) and on-line (i.e. websites).

You know Information Marketing best from books that you see at book stores or perhaps the exercise systems you can purchase from the TV Infomercials. Have you ever wanted to write your own book, share your knowledge, your system, your shortcuts? You may not have thought about the marketing and selling aspect of that but tha

How do we know? For the mere fact that I previously declared in my anteceding post… “last year three hundred and fifty two million individuals spent over $564 BILLION on information products. So… Do not you think there is an given chance there for you? Do not you think out of three hundred and fifty two million individuals worldwide (and with the growth of the Internet this number is sure to have already tripled) that there is a niche market out there for you? Sure there is! Go look on the Internet and see if you can find something similar. Someone is writing and putting information out there right now in your niche… why shouldn’t it be YOU?

I posses how what you are thinking… there is already too much Info out there, or someone has already written a book on my topic… or Or OR. No excuses. Here’s the deal. There is nobody else out there like YOU with your knowledge, your experience, expertise, spin, etc. AND more importantly there are people out there that will resonate with you and your message or Info but you have to give them the chance.

Let me take this a step further… Have you seen a book on imposed dieting? More than one book? Oh really? In fact let’s just narrow our search to Amazong for imposed dieting books and not even open this up to Google for worldwide returns…. On Amazon alone twhen you search imposed dieting books you get a whopping 33,758 returns on imposed dieting! Yikes!

Hmmmm…. Well now isn’t that interesting? There are a ton of books on dieting and new ones coming out what seems like every day! Yet they are all different, they all have their own spin and take on “Their System” I’ll talk more about this in my next post. Even with dieting a subject that would seem to be saturated by now and isn’t is an opportunity in Information Marketing.

You see there is never enough Info and people need to posses how what you posses how. The only difference between the “experts” and you is that 1) they call themselves and expert and 2) they have taken action to publish and market their Info in some format.

So back to our topic here on Information Marketing… I like to make this simple when it comes to explaining what type of information products there and there is a lot… I call them clicks and bricks. Now you know what Information Marketing is all about and it is HUGE! I’m looking forward to training you in this Industry and to helping you get started. I know you will make a positive difference in the lives of others when you share your information… your SYSTEM. Stay tuned for my next post on more about your System.

One great product that has recently been found in the market is that of customized poker chips. These chips are becoming a more popular item as poker climbs the graph in popularity. Poker is seen in a number of different formats now. There are poker tournaments that are being played both online and in televised competitions and the professional players are becoming more and more easily recognized. Even the average player can get into the idea of owning a set of personalized poker chips.

No longer do casinos get to be the only ones with personalized poker chips. There are a number of other things that need to be considered. By having your own personalized poker chips your game can be that much more exciting no matter if you are a veteran player or a new member to the playing table. Poker is a game that has increased in popularity and is increasing in the way that the game is played and those who are playing it. Unique actions might come of the most calm or understated person when poker is considered.

You may be sitting there thinking that you know everything there is to understand poker chips. However, sit back and let me tell you a thing or two about the chip that is called the poker chip. We have all seen the plain old boring design of the single color poker chip. If the company wants to get fancy they will add stripes to the chips to add some flare to it.

Are you tired of playing with the stereotypical red and blue poker chips that everyone else seems to have? Well, why not look into having your own chips made in other colors that are unique and special to you. Keep in mind that there are many different types of poker chips and that you can have a number of different things printed on your chips. You can do a number of things that are important to the user of the poker chips and being able to discuss things as considered.

Let’s say that you decide to have a Texas Hold’ em Halloween tournament, you will want to find poker chips that have bats or other ghoulish creatures on them, to liven up your game. Maybe the last time you went on vacation you went to the Bahamas and cleaned up and remember the poker chips that featured a tropical scene on them. They are available as well.

Custom poker chips can easily set the mood on game day, a birthday party, or even play a part in a practical joke. However, they are more than ambiance - the sight and ring of the chips hitting each other brings competition alive. So, enjoy the game, and bring you own uniqueness to any poker game with something that screams - “You!

Searching For Bad Credit Home Loans

Posted in Blogging

0

Finding bad credit home loans isn’t as hard as it once was. With a new administration in place, there are even more possibilities than before. They can get you approved, and make it affordable unlike in times past where only the people with good credit could get approved. Owning your own home is one of the biggest parts of the American dream.

It’s been called “The American Dream”. Although the home is only one part of it, it’s definitely the biggest. It’s hard to raise a family without one. In today’s credit card society, many have fallen into the hard spot of being a bad credit risk. Some get there for not much reason, others for many good reasons. However you get there, you can still find help to get you out, and get a home.

If you’re a bad credit person, then you probably feel you have no chance to get a loan for a home. This can’t be any farther from the truth. But if there’s a chance to fix your credit before applying, then that’s exactly what you should do. Find out what your credit score is and you might find out that there are only one or two things standing in the way of you and your home loan. If you need to rebuild a little, then get cracking, the sooner the better.

Your credit score is what will reveal all that has happened in your credit history. It shows the level of risk that you represent to lenders. The three main reporting agencies for credit are Transunion, Experian, and Equifax. You can get a free report from these companies, and these reports should be checked over thoroughly, because many times mistakes have been made without your knowledge.

And not matter where you are as far as bad credit is concerned, you can believe you’re not alone. Countless thousands of others find themselves in the same boat. Misuse of credit cards has been the number one reason for people falling into the bad credit group due to misunderstanding and misusing their credit cards. Many people just didn’t know how the truly worked. Some people just had no self-control in this area. Anyway, with all the people who are in trouble with credit, things have slacked up a bit as far as excluding them from doing business.

Since there are so many individuals with bad credit, lending institutions have shown some wisdom by opening things up and making it easier for those people to get the loans they need. It’s a huge market, and it would be foolish indeed for the lenders to ignore it. So that gives people with bad credit a leg up, and helps them to chase their dreams as eagerly as the more fortunate people whose credit is still intact.

Should you try without success to repair your credit and can’t seem to find a lender to take the risk, then you should by all means check out the FHA. They are the Federal Housing Authority, and they can help you to obtain the type loan you need, at a good low down payment, and one that will fit your budget needs. They have been outstanding in helping people achieve their dreams of home ownership. And the government has also kicked in with an $8, 000 credit incentive for first time home owners.

Finding bad credit home loans just isn’t as hard as some might think. It’s not a pushover, but it can be done. And it’s definitely worth doing. No-one in this country should ever think that they can’t own their own home. You have to persevere, do some research, and it may take some time, but you CAN do it. Don’t sit around wishing you had a home, go out and make it happen. Many Americans are doing just that.

7 Worst Things (bad) Seo Clients Do

Posted in Blogging

0

There are clients SEOs love to have and then there are those other kind. Every SEO has them and very few SEOs can be so selective as to weed out every client that isn’t the “perfect client” (and those that do generally work only for themselves.)

Being the perfect client may not be attainable, but you can certainly avoid being the bad client nobody wants. Here are seven things bad SEO clients do:

Unreasonable expectations It’s not always the client’s fault when there are unreasonable expectations. Sometimes the SEOs propagate misinformation in order to get the sale. Other times once they get involved in the site things look far different than they originally appeared. It is the responsibility of the client to ensure their expectations are in check with reality, despite any claims of the SEO. This is especially true when it comes to overall expectations vs. monetary investment. There is only so much that can be done with the time and money allotted.

Expectations should be closely guarded with plenty of room for moving the goalpost, depending on the situation. Bad SEO clients expect results outside the bounds of what is likely and refuse to temper those as things change.

Don’t return calls or emails There is nothing worse than an SEO campaign being slowed down or halted by lack of client communication. If your SEO is asking for feedback, there is a reason for it. If they are waiting on you to provide information it’s possible that your campaign will remain at a standstill until they get it. Make it a point to answer all communications from your SEO as quickly as possible. The only person that suffers from holding things up is you!

Clients need to be engaged with the marketing process. Bad SEO clients can often be their own worst enemy and can impair the marketing efforts by not returning calls and emails to the SEO.

Forwarding SEO spam emails Why is it that SEO clients often have trouble with recommendations proposed by their SEO but whenever they get a spam email they forward it asking, “why aren’t you doing this?” This is the ultimate example of not trusting the SEO. You’re putting your faith in a complete stranger who’s spamming every site they can rather than trusting that your SEO knows what they are doing. If your site can’t be found, did you ever wonder how the spammers found you?

Clients need to be involved in the campaign development process, but bad SEO clients forward every SEO spam email they get. This forces the SEO to take time away from actual SEO work to explain why the email is wrong, why things aren’t as the email says they are, and to defend their work. That’s hours of wasted time.

Overwriting SEO’s work This is a personal pet peeve. SEOs go though a lot of research and effort before making any changes to a client’s site. Whether the changes are a major reworking of a page, or a few minor edits to a title tag, they all have reason and merit. The quickest way to keep an SEO from being successful with your optimization campaign is to overwrite their changes with your own. Fortunately, the CodeMonitor tool will notify the SEOs within 24 hours any time a monitored page changes (we monitor all our client’s optimized pages.) However it’s still up to the client to ensure such overwriting doesn’t happen.

To be successful the SEOs work must remain in tact. Bad SEO client’s don’t take the time to ensure they or their team work only from the live SEOd version of the site.

Argue every recommendation I once had a client that went item by item arguing every recommendation we made. Calls to action? Too lowbrow for his audience. Using keywords? Too pedantic. It’s important for the client to seek to understand the reasoning behind the changes, but you can’t expect the SEO to improve your website’s exposure if you are tying their hands in their efforts. If you don’t agree with what the SEO is doing, give them the rope to hang themselves. Track the results, if conversions drop then undo it. But at least give it a chance to perform.

Clients need to understand the value of what the SEO is doing. Bad SEO clients question every change forcing the SEO to exhaust hours of time explaining and defending every decision.

Try to out SEO the SEO I’m a strong proponent of the client being involved and having an understanding of the overall SEO campaign. However there comes a point where the client has to let the SEO do their job. The SEO was hired because they have a skill set and area of expertise, presumably one the client themselves don’t have. The client can’t assume they know more about SEO than the SEO does and must give the SEO freedom to implement SEO their way.

Working with the SEO with brainstorming and strategy development is a good thing. Bad SEO clients push for every SEO tactic they learn about or supplement their own SEO knowledge into the campaign.

Call/email all the time Communication is essential to a well-oiled optimization machine, but too much of anything is a bad thing. Clients who call the SEO up on a regular bases because they want to talk about this, that or the other, are not doing themselves any favors. Whether they want to talk strategy, success, implementation or whatever, these communications must be done in an orderly fashion. The SEO should not be expected to field regular unwarranted calls from the client that suck up the time they would otherwise be investing in that client’s SEO campaign.

Clients should be interested in their campaign but not at the expense of the campaign itself. Bad SEO clients spend more time talking to the SEO than the SEO has available, preventing them from doing the job they were hired for.

SEOs love to work with good clients. Consequently, good SEO clients get better results than bad SEO clients. Bad SEO clients suck up the SEO’s time, create distractions from the campaign and prevent the SEO from doing the things that get the results the client ultimately wants. Ensuring that you are not a bad SEO client also ensures that the SEO can focus on your success.

What’s The Easiest Way To Make Money From My Blog? - Part 1

Posted in Blogging

0

Using your blog to make some extra income is quite easy to do and over the course of this article in two parts I’m going to walk you through the steps involved. You should view this a creating some extra income for yourself as it’s quite unlikely you’ll get rich from blogging! Nevertheless if you can make an extra 20 bucks a week for doing nothing then why not?

In order to stand a realistic chance of making money we need out blog to be very specific in its topic so choose one subject and stick to it. This is because we need targeted traffic arriving to the site. If you have numerous interests then start a separate blog for each one.

Rather than being driven by commercial reasons your blog topic should be something you know a lot about, you don’t have to be an expert but just able to write confidently on it. It should also be something which you’re not going to mind having to update every day with new posts.

The easiest blog site to use is Google’s Blogger. It takes care of absolutely everything for you in two simple steps and you’ll up and running in less than 2 minutes.

For the name of your blog make sure you choose keywords which people would commonly type into Google to search for the topics your site is about. So for example if my blog was all about learning piano I would title my blog ‘learn to play piano’ or ‘piano for beginners’ or ‘easy piano lessons for beginners’. You may find you have to try lots of variations before you’ll get one which isn’t already taken.

O.K with your site up and titled we have to start writing content and lots of it. Your posts should be well written, good quality content and completely original (written by you!). Update your blog every day with new content and this is going to continue for at least 2 weeks before going onto the next step.

At this point we have a blog and a history of good quality content being added every day. Now it’s time to let Google know your blog exists and generate some traffic. If you wait for Google to simply find you in one of its deep crawls you could be waiting forever, it’s far better to write some articles on your blog topic and submit them with backlinks to your blog on ezinearticles or goarticles. That’s by far the quickest way to get on Google’s radar.

Look out for part two of this article where we’ll talk about the remaining things you’ll need to do in order to get your blog making money.

American Wedding Practices

Posted in Blogging

0

Living in the US makes one feel free - free to do anything, free to live, free to love, free from traditions. While this is true, there are still many practices done during wedding that renders this memorable event with a distinct American touch.

Here are some:

Starting from the engagement, Americans can think of unique ways to personalize their wedding. As there really isn’t any engagement tradition, the more unique the marriage proposal is done, the better. For most wedding preparations, the engaged couple visits their parents to inform them of their recent engagement.

At times, the engaged couple hosts an engagement party. The engagement party costs less than a wedding reception since most of the time; the menu will only include cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Therefore, if the couple is on a tight budget, they can just invite more guests to the engagement party if they plan to limit the number of guests during the wedding.

Most wedding preparations have a bridal shower given by the maid of honor and the bridesmaids. The groom may also have a bachelor party the night before the wedding but he has to be careful not to drink too much.

Wedding invitations should include response cards to quickly inform the couple whether the person has accepted or declined the invitation. The wedding invitations should also be sent within four to six weeks before the event.

Usually, there is a rehearsal dinner in which the wedding party and guests came from far places to be present at the wedding attend. It was practiced that the groom’s parents pay for this dinner.

A bridal luncheon may be hosted for the bride’s attendants during the wedding day. However, time constraints may not permit this to be part of the schedule for the wedding day. Likewise, the groom may also host a groom’s dinner for his groomsmen.

Interestingly, even if the couple is not very religious, they still prefer a religious ceremony. However, this may pose a problem since in America people of different faiths and religious backgrounds get married.

Even if there are few people who believe in bad luck, some couples still make sure that the groom does not see his bride until she starts waking on the aisle.

It is still practiced that the groom and his groomsmen enter the church through a side door. The bride will then walk down the aisle with her father. In some cases when both her father and stepfather brought up the bride, she may ask them both to escort her.

During a formal reception, there is usually a bridal table where the couple and the attendants sit. Also, food and drinks should be served as the guests appear at the reception.

Before, gift giving used to depend on what the guest will feel useful for the couple. Now, it is better to register for gifts so the guests will know what to bring that the couple will need.

Upon receiving an engagement or wedding gift, it is better to send a thank you note apart from saying “thank you” to the giver. This should be sent within two weeks upon receipt of the gift. Make a personalized thank you note, instead of using an impersonal generic thank you note.

These are just some American practices during weddings. Whether one chooses to this or prefers to have a very different wedding, what’s more important is that American’s still believe in the wedding vow, “For better or worse, ’til death do us part.
