You’ve probably seen enough blogs by now to think that this is something you can easily do. And once you realize the potential of finding thousands of people who will be nothing short of enamored with your life, thoughts and hobbies you are ready to give it a go. But its not always that simple. You need to know a lot before you jump on this train.

You will not make a million dollars, at least for awhile, and certainly can’t expect to do it overnight. You will work a lot of hard hours you never dreamed of before achieving your goal of being a blogging success. You might be the best writer ever, but it will still take time to find your audience.

It is really hard to be a blogger in the beginning. You are just one of millions and nobody knows about you. Nobody visits your blog, or if they do its just a few people and no one comments. That’s why you see all of those blogs that have 5 posts before being abandoned. It takes time to build an audience.

You need a marketing plan to be successful and to find your people. You can wait around posting great content for years and never be discovered. Just a little marketing will make all the difference. Build links wherever you can.

It is a never ending learning situation. The world wide web never sleeps and it changes faster than you know. Staying on top takes as much work as it takes to even grow your blog. Don’t expect this to change.

It doesn’t matter how hard it is if its something you really want to do. Nothing comes for free in this world and the internet is no different. People who are willing to work hard and smart over a long time will always come out on top.
